Sienna Ramirez, a rising star in the world of swimming, has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Denver, marking a significant milestone in her athletic career. With a dedicated approach to the sport since her freshman year at Millikan High School, Ramirez has been a key member of her school's varsity swimming team and trains year-round with Irvine Novaquatics, specializing in breaststroke and the individual medley (IM).
Her recent 2025-26 season was a testament to her hard work, as she achieved remarkable improvements in her times. Ramirez dropped over 15 seconds in the 200 breast, 12 seconds in the 200 IM, and about a second and a half in the 100 breast. Her best meet of the season was at the California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section Division 2 Championships, where she finished runner-up in the 100 breast and fifth in the 200 IM, setting new personal bests. She made her State meet debut, finishing 22nd in the 100 breast, and boasts a best time of 2:20.59 in the 200 breast, set at Speedo Sectionals – Oceanside.
Beyond her achievements in the short course pool, Ramirez qualified for Summer Junior Nationals (LCM), finishing 103rd in the 200 breast, 109th in the 50 breast, and 114th in the 100 breast. These accomplishments showcase her versatility and potential as a swimmer.
The University of Denver, a Division I Mid-Major program, is a significant step in Ramirez's swimming career. The women's team won the Summit League conference title and is transitioning to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation this season. Ramirez's current personal bests would have ranked her seventh in the 100 breast and qualified her for the 'C' final in the 200 breast. Her times are impressive, and with two full seasons of training ahead, she is well-positioned to excel at the conference level.
Ramirez's commitment to Denver joins butterfly and sprint freestyle specialist McKenzie Parsons in the class of 2031. This announcement highlights the university's strength in swimming and its ability to attract top talent.
